In this intensive program you will attend Kaouthar's various dance projects in order to learn from her knowledge, repertoire of different arab dance styles. This is a unique dance project that blends the authentic with the modern, the earthy folkloric moves with the stylized Raqs Sharqi elegance. Kaouthar musical interpretation, timing, personal and emotional expression are truly a gift to the dancers!!  You are guaranteed to offer the most authentic, modern and creative presentation of Oriental belly dance art form!!

Vision

Empowerment via performance and improvisation.

This course is also about "feminine awarness": how to use performance to empower ourselves as women: to get in touch with our hidden emotions, our power and vulnerability, our joy and melancoly and to express our unique personality through the belly dance.

Structure

Analysis of the composition (logica+structure) of a belly dance choreography.

Learn how to build up a whole dance from A until Z: to choose and understand the music, movements that fit with the music, transitions between movements to create 'logique' and fluency in your dance, swtich bewteen melody, harmony and rythm, use musical accents, build up the tempo-excitement of a dance...

Interpretation

How to ‘hear with the body’ the belly dance music instruments, melody, rythmes...

Emotinal interpretation is the essence of a performance or an improvisation. Learn how to interprete in an authentic belly dance with a wide range of emotions: subtil, reserved sensuality, playfulness, sexy, softness, dynamisme, anger, melancololy, agressivity, eroticism, power, frivolity, humour....

Learn and Play!

The goal is: learn while playing and having Fun! Participants work on 'mise en scene' and stage performance. During these workshops, each student receives individual correction and guidance. Each participant is filmed and her dance is thouroughly analysed. Regular and personal feed-backs are given in a sensitive, nurturing and empowering way.

SHOW: The Choreographies will be presented to the public.
